gardening help required

So last week J and I decided to buy some plants for our balcony. The thinking was that it’d be so nice to be able to grow our own herbs and J was keen to grow limes (they’re not that cheap here and we use them quite a lot in cooking). Off we go to the garden centre and stock up, come home all excited and start potting things. Now the problem was that we didn’t read the instructions and so potted the lime tree in fertiliser which is highly toxic and meant to be used sparingly not exclusively!! Upon realising our mistake we went back to the garden centre, bought the proper stuff and replanted. The thing is the poor lime tree looks rather traumatised by the whole thing. Any gardeners out there who could advise? Incidentally the rocket is doing well and the basil is coming through and I’m about to plant the corriander. I reckon the lime is wilting like me in the heat – today is another ’stay in front of the fan day’ and the promise of a cooler end to the week has disappeared in the latest forecast…balcony1.jpglime-tree.jpgWhat is a girl to do, then, when her husband is at work, it’s ridiculously hot outside, she’s done two loads of washing, cleaned the shower room, vacuumed, done some OT study and has learned her ‘not cooking in the heat’ lesson? Of course, she looks through old videos and labels them!! I seriously thought I’d never get round to doing this job!! Anyway, what a joy to look back on the last year and a half and laugh and smile and remember. Good good times. Big shout out to Jo, Pete and the genetics boys. We miss you people!
